Lace Knitting: Night 3

In this three week class, we use the Ashton Shawlette as an introduction to lace knitting. The Ashton is a lovely shawlette with leaf motifs, the tiny leaf buds seem to merge into full-sized leaves in the blink of an eye. It's a beautiful finished product that you'll be proud to show off to friends and family.

Skills Learned: how to read lace patterns, both written and charted, how to do basic lace patterns, including yarn overs and decreases, and what yarn and needles work best for lace knitting by knitting a swatch, how to fix common mistakes in lace knitting, how to cast off and block your shawl.
